Roles and Responsibilities

The Senior Sales Manager will work on acquiring new solar power customers and sustain existing clients in the EU. This person has the opportunity and needs the desire to specialize in an expanding market to search for PV project opportunity and distributors in the solar industry, navigate complex industries to find project and client opportunities

  1. Responsible for delivering sales and contribution targets of the area, customer maintenance of photovoltaic modules in the European region (including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, etc.);
  2. Maintain and establish customer relationships, expand existing customer relationships, and explore and develop new customers;
  3. Ownership of relationship and communication with key customers to understand their needs in terms of contractual, purchase orders, account receivables, technical, financial, logistic and marketing support, and being able to influence and collaborate with HQ or regional functional teams to realize such requirements to achieve ultimate customer satisfaction while maximize business interests to handle business, technology, finance and other related issues;
  4. Assist the sales director to participate in the discussion and decision-making of major overseas projects;
  5. Strictly implement the company's KPI assessment mechanism to ensure effective control of sales collection and profits;
  6. Pay attention to exhibitions and summits in the region, implement brand marketing and customer discovery work, and keep up with the latest market trends.
  7. Identify, generate, maintain and further develop relationships with key customers in these markets, such as IPP/owners/developers, EPCs, consultants, distributors, local installers and other partners and stakeholders in PV industry;
  8. Monitor tender opportunities; develop, manage and grow the pipeline of sales opportunities which would be turned into sales achievements each quarter, in different segment such as utility, commercial and residential;
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry associations, local government related department, IPP, potential project investors and banks, and other key industry players besides direct customers;
  10. Manage entire sales/order process for the segment, from forecasting to product availability lead times, delivery and payment collection for all the key accounts, staying in close contact both with customers and the company’s related internal departments. Able to close the deals and complete the order and settle down customer’s claims; Provide regular market updates and sales reports;
  11. Stay up to date with market information, including competitors and customers benchmarking; Work closely with Marketing teams to optimize marketing activities and product launches in the area.


Position Requirements

  1. Master or Bachelor’s Degree in business, economic, electrical, power or related field;
  2. 5 - 10 years previous experience with similar business development or account management role, in solar business;
  3. Understand PV market dynamics and industry trend;
  4. Extensive experience in tender preparation, contract review and negotiation, account management, deal closure, etc;
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to manage different stakeholders both internally and externally;
  6. Experience in account management and development;
  7. Ability to work under pressure and able to manage conflicts and ambiguities
  8. Strong program management skills a plus.
  9. Be familiar with the policies, market conditions and customer needs of the countries in the region you are responsible for, and be able to formulate corresponding product plans, certification requirements and market strategies based on the regional market;
  10. Have knowledge of international marketing, in-depth understanding of professional knowledge in photovoltaic modules and related fields, understand the development status of the industry, and possess knowledge of law, finance and financing;
  11. Excellent English. German is a strong plus.
