As our first Supply Chain Manager, you will build and own Vesoma’s supply chain end-to-end, from early prototyping through to mass production scale. That means mapping the supplier landscape for our robot components, identifying and rigorously assessing potential partners, onboarding the right ones, and managing those relationships as we scale. You will work directly with our engineering and hardware teams to translate technical requirements into sourcing strategies, and you will set up the processes, tools, and frameworks that make this function run.
Key Responsibilities- Own the full procure-to-pay lifecycle across all robot component categories including mechanical assemblies, actuators, electronics, sensors, and custom hardware.
- Identify, assess, and qualify suppliers through structured RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, evaluating on key performance criteria and fit for Vesoma's technical requirements.
- Lead supplier onboarding from contract negotiation through first-article qualification to series supply readiness, establishing the right quality frameworks and agreements.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships through performance reviews, KPIs, scorecards, and continuous improvement plans.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to align sourcing with development and production timelines and BOM evolution across robot generations.
- Drive cost optimization through clean-sheet analysis, should-cost modelling, and hard negotiation, without compromising on production-grade quality.
- Drive supplier industrialization and end-to-end production scaling, including capacity planning, tooling readiness, demand/supply planning, and resilient sourcing strategies to enable reliable, cost-efficient high-volume manufacturing.
- Leverage AI tools, data analytics, and modern procurement software to operate with high efficiency.
- Experience: 6–10+ years in supply chain management, ideally across both highly competitive, high-volume industries (e.g. automotive) and high-growth environments. You have taken products from prototype through to high-volume production and have been directly responsible for supplier industrialization, capacity ramp, and production readiness. You have worked closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to navigate design iterations, yield challenges, and scaling constraints.
- Technical Depth: Hands‑on experience sourcing complex electromechanical components including but not limited to actuators, motors, gearboxes, sensors, custom electronics, PCBAs, wire harnesses, and precision‑machined parts. You can engage credibly with engineers about design requirements and translate them into sourcing decisions.
- Builder Mindset: You have set up a supply chain function (or a significant part of one) from scratch. You know how to define the right processes for the stage of the business, resist over‑engineering early, and build systems that scale.
- Commercial Sharpness: Strong negotiation skills and a track record of achieving best‑in‑class pricing and terms. Familiar with clean‑sheet costing, should‑cost modelling, and structuring supplier agreements that protect the company across price, quality, IP, liability, and delivery.
