Your role

• Development, enhancement, and maintenance of backend services with a focus on C# and .NET (Core)
• Analysis, adoption, and targeted optimization of existing external solutions
• Identification of refactoring potential as well as structured and low-risk modernization of existing systems while maintaining operational stability
• Ensuring high quality standards with regard to code quality, performance, and maintainability
• Design and implementation of service integrations via REST APIs as well as event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, SQS)
• Close and structured collaboration with Quality Assurance (QA), DevOps, and other backend teams
• Active participation in the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines as well as deployments in the AWS Cloud
• Ensuring software quality through the use of unit tests and integration tests (e.g., with xUnit or NUnit) as well as common mocking frameworks
• Strong sense of responsibility (“ownership”) and the ability to collaborate effectively in distributed, international teams.

Your profile

• Several years of experience (5+ years) with C# and .NET Core, as well as practical experience in running applications on Linux (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Solid expertise in microservices architectures, API design, cloud technologies (ideally AWS), as well as CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Deep understanding of CLR, async/await, memory management, and performance profiling
• Strong database knowledge in PostgreSQL (query optimization, schema design, migrations)
• Experience with observability (logging, tracing, metrics – e.g., OpenTelemetry)
• Strong quality awareness through unit and integration testing (xUnit/NUnit, mocking)
• Independent working style, team spirit, and enjoyment of working in distributed teams
• Language skills: German (B2–C1) and English (C1)
• Ideally, experience with event-driven or message-driven architectures
• Experience with Java / Spring Boot is considered a plus
• Additional advantage: knowledge of customs, tax, or compliance domains.
