As an enrolled student of electrical engineering or related field of study, you’ll become part of our research team and help us to investigate and prototype G wireless systems. The focus is on new upcoming technologies like integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), non-terrestrial communication, and/or machine learning techniques as part of the wireless transmission system. Depending on your abilities, you’ll extend the existing prototyping system and conduct experiments to verify and quantify new ideas.

The deployment of G is ongoing, and the focus of researchers in academia and industry is already shifting to the th generation of wireless communications. The focus is on new upcoming technologies like integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), non-terrestrial communication, and/or machine learning techniques as part of the wireless transmission system. As with G, NI wants to be on the leading edge and is preparing for the next technology wave.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Working on a prototyping system for G Wireless Communications Research

Plan, set up, and conduct measurement campaigns and experiments

Implement compelling demonstrators and Proof of Concepts for G communication systems to be showcased at conferences
 

Who You Are:You work effectively in a group environment, solve problems, diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions. You prepare content for communication that is impactful and reach out to mentors with questions to help drive progress and completion of goals and tasks. You are passionate about wireless technology and like to learn and work with the latest test and measurement techniques and equipment. 
 For This Role, You Will Need:

Ongoing academic studies in electrical engineering or computer science with a focus on communication systems (from th semester)

Good knowledge in Linux, Python, and C programmingDigital signal processing (, OFDM)Wireless Communications

Interest in hands-on experimentation and prototyping

Self-organized and structured working style

Good command of spoken and written English and/or German

Availability for months starting in October

This internship must be a mandatory part of your studies
