Data Engineer (Analytics / BI Focus) — Frankfurt

TSL Projects | Full-time | Site-based

About TSL

TSL is a leading international technical engineering and construction partner operating across the UK, Ireland, and Mainland Europe. We focus on design and build contracts for end user clients, specialising in Data Centres, Food, Pharmaceutical, Logistics and Advanced Manufacturing.

We are committed to creating the spaces that enable the fourth industrial revolution, whilst ensuring we leave a positive environmental and social legacy for communities across the world. We work with our clients and supply chain partners with one simple agenda — get things done and get them done right. First class projects, delivered efficiently, without compromising on safety or quality.

We're growing fast across Europe, and we're looking for great people to grow with us.

The opportunity

This isn't a purely back-office or highly theoretical data role. You'll be working closely with project and commissioning teams to turn complex project data into clear, practical insights that improve how our sites operate day to day.

You'll help connect data from multiple systems, transform it into meaningful information, and build dashboards that give teams real visibility on performance, progress and risks across our data centre projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys working with data but also wants to see the real-world impact of their work on large-scale engineering and construction projects.

What you'll be doing

• Connecting and extracting data from multiple project-related systems (e.g. project management tools, commissioning platforms, scheduling software)

• Cleaning, structuring and combining datasets to create reliable, analysis-ready data for reporting

• Supporting the development of structured datasets and simple data models to enable consistent reporting across projects

• Maintaining organised data tables (e.g. SQL or Excel-based environments) to ensure accuracy and usability

• Building clear, user-friendly dashboards and reports using tools such as Microsoft Power BI

• Presenting key project metrics (progress, performance, risks) in a way that is easy for non-technical stakeholders to understand

• Supporting the automation of manual reporting processes to improve efficiency and consistency

• Streamlining how data is collected, updated and shared across teams

• Working closely with project managers, planners and commissioning engineers to understand reporting needs

• Translating business questions into clear data outputs and actionable insights

• Identifying inconsistencies, gaps or errors in datasets and supporting overall data quality

• Contributing to basic data governance practices and reporting standards across systems

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with data, is detail-oriented and likes solving problems. Someone who can manage multiple tasks, communicate clearly with different teams and is curious about how things work in a real project environment.

You should be comfortable learning new tools, asking questions and turning raw data into something meaningful and easy to understand for non-technical users.

What helps

• A degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

• Working knowledge of SQL and relational data structures (ability to query, filter and combine data)

• Strong Excel skills; experience with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI is highly beneficial

• Basic exposure to a programming language such as Python is helpful, but not essential

• Ability to present data clearly through dashboards, charts and structured reports

• Familiarity with working across multiple systems and data sources

• Exposure to construction or project tools (e.g. Procore, ACC) is a plus, not a requirement

• Some hands-on experience with data analysis, reporting or dashboards (e.g. university projects, internships or entry-level roles)

• Understanding of data structures or system architecture is a plus

Why TSL?

• Real exposure to large-scale international projects from day one

• A business that invests in its people — learning from some of the best in the industry

• A fast-paced, genuinely enjoyable place to work

• A family-run business where the wellbeing of our people is taken seriously, not just written in a policy

• The opportunity to build a long-term career in data, analytics and project delivery
