We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on (Junior) Robotics Systems Engineer to support the development and operation of our UAV mission systems. In this role, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software, contributing to the evolution of our Yocto-based Embedded Linux platform while developing and integrating low-level components in C/C++ and Python. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable, real-time-capable system performance on deployed robotic systems. This is an opportunity to grow into complex system domains such as Computer Vision or GNC, while gaining deep, practical experience in building robust, production-ready drone technologies.
The day-to-day
- Build and advance system readiness: Develop, maintain, and expand Yocto-based Embedded Linux distributions for mission-critical systems
- Develop low-level software: Design and optimize efficient C/C++applications and supporting Python scripts
- Integrate and bring up hardware: Connect, validate, and maintain flight controllers, cameras, and sensors with in Linux-based systems
- Ensure real-time performance: Deliver low-latency, stable, and reliable system behavior under operational conditions
- Expand your operational scope: Gradually contribute to Computer Vision or GNC (Guidance, Navigation & Control) based on your growth and interests
- First hands-on experience( studies, internships, orprojects) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or similar
- Solid foundation in C/C++ and Python, with interest in low-level systems and Linux environments
- Strong motivation to learn: Embedded Linux and Yocto, combined with a hands-on, ownership-driven mindset
- System thinker & builder: You enjoy working close to hardware, under standing complex systems, and building robust solutions
- Language skills: English is required; German is a plus.
Nice to haves
- Experience with UAVs / drones
- Familiarity with PX4, MAVLink, or similar flight-control ecosystems
- Exposure to ROS / ROS 2 or interest in Computer Vision / Control Theory
Real impact & ownership: Shape high-tech defense systems and take responsibility from day one.
Mission-driven environment: Work on technologies that matter for European security and sovereignty.
Competitive package: Competitive salary, EGYM Wellpass, corporate benefits, and equity options aligned with role and level.
Deep tech environment: Get hands-on experience with cutting-edge drone technology and real operational use cases.
Grow fast: Steep learning curve for juniors, strategic influence and leadership opportunities for seniors.
Startup mindset meets defence innovation: flat hierarchies, fast decisions, and space for your ideas.
Flexibility: Flexible hours, remote options, and relocation support.
Strong team: International, driven colleagues and a culture built on exchange, trust, and shared success.
