We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our Data Operations team at Morningstar Indexes. You'll be having a hands-on experience in managing and processing financial data, supporting index production workflows, and contributing to data quality initiatives. The ideal candidate will have foundational skills in SQL and Python, a passion for data, and a strong analytical mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the collection, validation, and processing of financial market data from various sources.
Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
Develop and maintain Python scripts for data transformation, automation, and reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Index Research, IT, and Product to ensure data integrity.
Help document data workflows and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot issues under supervision.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Basic proficiency in SQL and Python.
Familiarity with relational databases and data structures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Good communication skills in English; German is a plus but not required.
Interest in financial markets and index methodologies is a plus.
