We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager to join our sales department for ETAP Design Software

Position Summary

The main responsibilities of this position are the creation, planning and execution of the technical sales as well as the business development of our ETAP Digital Twin solution for design https://etap.com/ for the DACH region.

The Business Development Manager / Technical Sales is responsible for the business development and integration of the Electrical Power Management System solutions ETAP Design with end customers. In addition to marketing and developing a strong sales pipeline, the position includes working closely with the product manager and driving product development.

This position requires a combination of technical background in energy engineering as well as a sales and innovative mindset. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of regional market needs in terms of selling software solutions. Have knowledge of dealing with customers at senior management level, feel comfortable in telephone conversations Have excellent presentation and closing skills and have at least five years of professional experience in a technical sales position.


We are looking for an employee with:

• Experience in technical sales in the electrical engineering industry

• Solid track record in solution sales

• Experience in the design and analysis of renewable power generation plants and microgrids.

• Knowledge in the optimisation of energy systems

• Experience in power system engineering

• Strong understanding of customer requirements and market dynamics

• Excellent presentation, communication, organizational, and time management skills

• Team-oriented, motivated and results-oriented

• Initiative and self-motivation

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English

• Experience in dealing with CRM systems

• Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

• Class B driving licence


Your main tasks will be:

Responsible for the business development and distribution of our ETAP design software for the various sectors and industries in electrical engineering in DACH.

• Implementation of product presentations online, on-site at the customer's site or events.

• acquisition of new customers.

• Maintenance of existing customers

• Building a strong bid-sales pipeline

• Establish and maintain close relationships with key decision-makers in the Member States. Customers' business units.

• Design and implementation of sales plans, strategies and expansion plans for the management

• Placement of ETAP Design products on customers' supplier lists.

• Design of functional and technical descriptions and characteristics of ETAP

• Collaboration and coordination with the Schneider Electric & AVEVA teams

• Coordination of training seminars for end customers, distributors and internal sales teams.

• Reports to monitor success


Our requirements profile for you

Hard Skills

• Degree in electrical, power engineering or automation technology or equivalent

• Fluent in English

• Good knowledge of MS Office and basic IT skills

• Good knowledge of eCAD software on the market (mentioned above)

• Driving licence B
