At the Institute for Modelling and Simulation of Biomechanical Systems (IMSB), we use computational and experimental methods to advance our knowledge of biomechanical systems, with a particular focus on the human system. Through this work, we contribute to the vision of the digital human, its dissemination to policy makers and society, and its translation into commercial applications.

As part of the joint project ARENA with the research focus Mobility , we are involved in occupant safety research of autonomous vehicles. The development of a human body model for a realistic, virtual occupant simulation in the vehicle of the future is a central aspect of this research.
