OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME – GERMANY (M/F)
Period: 30 month
The programme: Our Operations Management Graduate Development Programme is designed to give you an immersive, hands-on experience across the different areas of Operations. You’ll get first-class training, mentoring and support, and you’ll also learn from some of the most respected and highly qualified professionals in the field. Your first three placements will give you experience in areas like Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality/Improvement. And because you’ll spend time in a manufacturing environment, by the end of your 18 months you’ll have gained a solid understanding of the breadth of Operations here. Your next challenge will be a 12-month leadership role where you’ll have the support you need start developing others and to grow your performance management skills.
What you’ll do: Your first 18 months will see you experience the full value chain as you learn how to manage suppliers, negotiate price reductions for aerospace parts and influence our commodity strategy. You’ll also have the chance to take responsibility for sourcing and managing a portfolio of parts, and you’ll spend time gaining a technical understanding of manufacturing and Lean processes on the shop floor. You could even have the chance to drive your own improvement project. Then your 12-month supported leadership role will begin. Working in a manufacturing environment, you’ll build on what you’ve learned and discover how to lead a team to meet customer demands. Whatever stage you’re at, we’ll expect you to ask questions, to think critically and to look for ways to drive improvements.
What you’ll need: We’re looking for graduates with strong leadership skills – so you’ll need to know how to earn trust and inspire respect. In terms of academic qualifications, you should be on course to achieve an above average degree, or a comparable qualification, in an engineering, science or numerate subject. Flexibility is important too, as you could be based at any of our sites. We also want you to be innovative and resourceful: you’ll never be short of ideas about how we can do things even better. You are fluent in German and English, both spoken and written and ideally you have proven global working experiences.
