THE COMPANY

Texas Instruments’ Low Power DC/DC product line, based in Freising, Germany, is looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and outgoing Applications Engineer. The Low Power DC/DC product line is investing in the design and production-release of state-of-the art low power DC to DC products. These products are used in personal electronic consumer (e.g. smart phone, wearable devices) as well as in industrial (e. g. building / factory automation) or automotive (e. g. infotainment) applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position can be fitted to experienced engineers as well as highly motivated first-time job applicants. The job location can be in Freising, Germany or Dallas, Texas, USA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an application engineer you will work with TI customers to determine their major power design challenges and partner with them on creating solutions that focus on ease-of-use and added value. You will also spend hands-on-time in a TI lab tackling problems and delivering innovative solutions that support our products and drive revenue.

Some of your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support to the company's field staff and customers by e-mail, phone or in person
  • Performing failure analysis, duplicate and investigate customer application issues and working with the quality, test and design teams to identify root cause and solutions
  • Developing technical documentation including application notes, user guides, design notes and white papers
  • Providing internal and customer trainings through events like FAE summits and TI Tech Days or through written materials, webinars or training videos
  • Creating promotion material like blogs and articles
  • Creating fully functional demonstration systems and reference designs
  • Collaboration closely with TI’s system solution teams on device recommendation for reference designs as well as identification of portfolio gaps

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS RELEVANT FOR THE POSITION INCLUDE:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong proactive communication skills to effectively work with core Design / Product / Test / Quality / Field Apps / Sales teams and external customers
  • Proficiency with bench level test equipment (i. e. DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, multi-meters)
  • A desire to spend time in a hands-on environment testing devices in the lab
  • Working knowledge of schematic capture tools and PCB layout techniques to develop lab boards
  • Experience with LabVIEW, Spotfire, Matlab, and/or other programming skills are beneficial
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Fluent in English
