DFDS ́s trainee program is for candidates who have a fresh bachelor or plan to complete their bachelor in 2017. Preferably bachelor degrees within economic, maritime, logistic or commercial areas. You must be fluent in English.

Do you want to kick-start your career within shipping and logistics? And do you want to get practical, hands-on experience combined with a tailor-made, formal education? As a Shipping & Logistic trainee in DFDS, you will join a two-year program where you will live and work in two different European cities. We will trust you with real responsibilities that will develop your skills gradually – and we can assure you that the experience will also develop you as a person.
Move into shipping & logistics
You will learn the groundstrokes of both shipping and logistics, which will give you a unique skill set compared to other trainee programs. The on-the-job training will be accompanied by a formal education provided by the Danish Shipowners ́ Association. It consists of e-learning and three module courses of six to ten days duration in Copenhagen where you will meet trainees from other companies and from all over the world. A perfect chance to start building a strong network within the industry.
You will become part of an international company with more than 7,000 colleagues all over Europe. During the course of the program, you will live and work in two different European cities. You will experience different working cultures and get a chance to perfect your language skills - and ultimately open the door to an international career.
Move forward from day 1
You will be trusted with real responsibilities from day one because this is the best way to learn. As a shipping & logistic trainee, you will be in contact with global customers, suppliers, and other service providers in the industry and you will work on an equal footing with your colleagues. Your duties will include assisting with filling and collecting shipping paperwork, handling losses and insurance clai
ms, informing customers of schedules and freight rates, general cargo booking, as well as different administrative tasks.
