The Enterprise team is among a handful of rapidly emerging new businesses that are becoming front-and-center for Google as it enters its second decade as a company.</p> <h3> The role: Enterprise Geospatial Deployment Specialist</h3> <p> As the Geospatial Deployment Specialist with the Google Enterprise team you will report to the Enterprise Search and Geospatial Deployment Manager and work with external customers and partners to ensure the successful deployment of Google&rsquo;s Geospatial products (Google Maps API Premier and Google Earth Enterprise). You will create the tools and processes as well as be involved in project management tasks to support deployment.</p> <p> You will use your strong technical knowledge, GEO/GIS product expertise and experience working with external clients to provide deployment assistance and solution design as part of a global Geospatial service line, You will also work closely with product engineers, the Geospatial support team, and sales engineers to improve the product&#39;s vision and to ensure the successful deployment of customer solutions.</p> <p> Extensive travel will be required including international travel.</p> <h4> Responsibilities:</h4> <ul> <li> Work with customers and partners, both remotely and onsite, to design and implement geospatial solutions using Google products such as Maps API Premier and Google Earth Enterprise software.</li> <li> Provide hands-on technical implementation and guidance for Google Maps API Premier and Google Earth Enterprise products, including working on customer applications, authoring documentation and code samples, and performing system configuration.</li> <li> Identify and document bugs and feature requests in the products and work with engineers and customers to implement effective solutions.</li> <li> Work closely with engineers, product managers and sales engineers to improve the products, up to and including suggested changes to the product code.</li> <li> Design and deliver enablement tools and best practices to help customers and partners deploy Google&rsquo;s geospatial solutions more effectively.</li> </ul> <h4> Minimum Qualifications:</h4> <ul> <li> BS/BA degree in a technical field. In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience.</li> <li> Industry experience in a customer-facing or consulting role in professional services, software development, systems integration or systems engineering, preferably with project or account management experience.</li> <li> Experience deploying web-based geospatial applications; strong understanding of web development protocols (HTML5, AJAX, XML, JSON), with good understanding of Geospatial technologies (KML, GeoRSS, etc)</li> <li> Experience in managing multiple streams of work, and complex customer requirements.</li> </ul> <h4> Preferred Qualifications:</h4> <ul> <li> Good Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python or Perl) skills and experience with SQL databases.</li> <li> Proactive, can-do attitude, ability to follow-through, resourceful, and keen attention to detail.</li> <li> Strong command the English language and fluency in French, Spanish or German.</li> </ul>
